New year, new calendars

Our family loves calendars, and over the years we mostly get "themed" one from Cavallini & Co. and some other version of a Sierra Club/California wild flowers type.

I always get a "Russian Icons" one -- the imprint of icons they choose is excellent and the colors wonderful.

I was in Borders Bookstore today and got a "Birds & Nests" one for my desk, and it is charming to look at.  I got an early Christmas present of a hanging squirrel-proof bird feeder, so I'm just starting to learn about the local native birds.  So far, we mostly have colorful finches and some largish doves -- who knew they also come in light brown?
