Gifts come in all forms

Our family has a glorious house in the California Sierra. We love the place, and it is plain and simple. This year the house is 40 years old, but it is still referred to as "the cabin."

So of course there is always the dreaded "upkeep." Upkeep has a time-constrained meaning, as most work can't be done in the winter, which can be 5-6 months long here. This summer, my husband and his brother have been literally crunching, time wise, to get some things done, inside and out.

My husband has been busy "projecting" EVERY DAY. I, of course, would just like to take photos of thistles and knit.

But I do plenty of housework, and have done enough dishes up here to line them up to China and back, I suspect.

So when a new sink was put in this week, well .... I am still totally "gobsmacked." It is fabulous, gorgeous, and SO much bigger and deeper than the old 14" (35.5 cm) wide sink ... I'm happy to do dishes now.
