December moving along

I don't seem to get back here much, but December has been moving along at a rapid pace ... and before I know it, it will be 2010!

My daughter Julia got married a few weeks ago to a wonderful guy in a simple ceremony in Santa Cruz.  My sister in law made the cake, and we had fun decorating a table for "the kids" with the cake, some small gifts, and a Christmas tree "plant."  My husband and I can't be more pleased for the newlyweds, who will be going to Hawaii in January for a week.

Otherwise, we've been doing the normal chores around the house, and I've tried to work a lot on the afghan squares for the afghan I'm making Julia and Ryan.  Unfortunately, it won't be finished by Christmas, but I'm aiming for a "done date" by the time they get back from Hawaii.

As of this morning, presents from "Santa" are wrapped, and I need to tidy up the back part of the house so our son Chris has a tidy room to sleep in when he comes next week, and Julia and Ryan can find a place to put our blow up bed in the sewing room.  I'm watching the passing of the Health Care bill and snow on TV -- hopefully the Health Care bill is a good start to something that still needs a lot of fixing.

Have a wonderful time in Hawaii, that sounds like a blissful way to spend the holidays.
