Swatching can be fun

when you know you are really not going to knit the project right away.

This 50% goat down/50% wool is by Taiga yarns, but not available in the US. The local store is woefully low on stock, but I wanted to swatch it up before I bought more.

It's lovely -- and reminds me of the older Orenburg (goat down also) shawls with the wisps of goat hair that poke through. It's thick and warm (can't figure out why it is labeled "fingering") and you wouldn't want to work on it in an unairconditioned room at the moment! I'm definitely going to go back and see what other colors are left, including the black. This yarn would make great mittens, too!
